Description of application effect
Like other hollow sections, steel channel is rolled from steel sheet into C or U shapes. It consists of a wide "web" and two "flanges". The flanges could be parallel or tapered.
1.1.1 ASTM A36 steel channel
ASTM A36 steel channel is hot-rolled, low carbon steel section with good properties including welding, machinability and ductility. A36 structural channel have two types of sizes: UPN & UPE - tapered flanges and parallel flanges respectively. If you can't find the specific size in the table below, bespoke channel dimensions are available.
ASTM A36 steel c channel ASTM A36 mild steel channel could be galvanized or primed to add a layer of protective coating to resist environment or weather corrosion. The specific zinc coating can be ordered depending on your requirements. Applications: ·Building or construction supporting components. Framing supports for truck, trailer, equipment. Ceiling channel system. Everyday uses like worktable.
1.1.2 ASTM A572
ASTM A572 is a high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steel with alloy content of columbium and vanadium, which strengthens the steel and provides higher yield point strength than ASTM A36. A572 HSLA steel channel is ideal for the applications where needs higher strength for it reduces the thickness and weight. A572 steel channel - UPN dimensions ASTM A572 steel sections have three grades - Grade 42, 50 and 55. You can find the specific chemical content & mechanical properties in the tables below.
1.1.3 ASTM A529-50 carbon steel
ASTM A529-50 carbon steel channel is stronger than common A36 steel channel for A529-50 is carbon-manganese steel. A529-50 has 50 ksi yield strength which reduces weight for the same strength. Hence, it is ideal for application where requires higher strength. ASTM A529-50 galvanised steel channel A529-50 steel channel types: ·Surface treatments: black (non-treatment), hot-dip galvanized, primed. ·A529-50 galvanized steel channel effectively resist corrosion from environments. The amount of zinc coating is customized according to your actual requirements. As to primed steel channel, it owns better corrosive resistance than zinc coating. Applications: Ceiling channel systems, frames or framing for machinery, equipment, walls; tracks for machines or other things; supporting parts for warehouses, shops, ordainment elements for modern buildings.
1.1.4 ASTM A588
ASTM A588 is another HSLA steel which is used to manufacture steel channels - C & U shapes. It has better comprehensive properties than A572 for its small amount of alloy elements - copper, chromium and nickel. The copper content itself resists corrosion effectively. Therefore, A588 steel channel section has wider applications than mild carbon steel channel like A36. It is the premium alternative for ship & car. A588 steel channel to be exported to south korea. Applications: ·Bridges, buildings, cars, equipment. ·Stair stringers, wall framing. ·Warehouse, factory work shop. Ceiling channel.
