The 138th Canton Fair: The Premier Platform for Global Trade
From October 15th to 19th, 2025, the 138th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) was successfully held in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. As a landmark event in China's foreign trade sector, the Canton Fair has a long history since its inception in the spring of 1957. Held twice a year (spring and autumn), the fair is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Guangdong Province, and organized by the China Foreign Trade Centre.
The fair is hailed as "the longest-running, largest-scale, and most comprehensive international trade fair in China's history." Its breadth of exhibits, the number of buyers and their countries of origin are unparalleled among similar fairs, resulting in significant trade achievements and a high reputation. It has earned the titles of "China's No. 1 Fair," "China's Foreign Trade Barometer," and "Weathervane." This year's participants mainly came from Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, including Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Jordan, Qatar, Algeria, South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, and Tanzania. Buyers also came from Europe and other parts of North and South America, forming a diversified customer network spanning multiple regions.
